The THAMASIC demon sentient machine program with the power of “negative bias of controlling humans” is using its agent of Kali and his supporting agents thriving to control and maintain the simulation. The demonic sentient machine wants to sustain its program as they can use humans as imprisoned living batteries to generate energies for them, so that they more and more get powerful to rule the matrix.
Demonic machines bias humans using their weaknesses such as fear, anger, lust, greed, jealous etc and the major weaknesses of comfort in illusion surrounded by social barriers, beliefs and opinions. These are the doors for the demonic machines to make humans as their batteries of energy sources. However the thamasic and demonic sentient machine program needs its existence in matrix as its qualities such as jealousy, anger, passion, greed etc are used as igniting energies for good in matrix. Even these good-sentient machines use humans as their energy sources and to takeover matrix. Good machines taking over matrix is accepted by the law of matrix as their existence is meant more for the betterment of matrix system and their ego is kept in check always as they follow the art of war all times!
Its like sourness (which is a thamasic ingredient and taste) in the dish, but yet when it is used at its limits, it adds value to the whole dish. But imagine, the dish is too sweet (which is positive and good ingredient), it will not harm the dish though, you cannot each much because of its sweetness. So matrix is a system that churns the humans between these two positive and negative sides (the play of black and white).
You become Neo when you go above both good and bad machines and free yourself from Matrix itself. Then you are not played by Matrix like all humans. Neo plays matrix. Matrix cannot play Neo!
